Life for Lewis Fundraising Activities
Fundraising ~ Life for Lewis Appeal ~ www.lifeforlewis.co.uk
In 2015 we decided to try and raise some money for a sensory room for Lewis at home. He absolutely loves visual and audio stimulation and had always been so relaxed and calm when accessing sensory rooms at school or during hospital stays. The cost of this room however was 15K and there was absolutely no way this would be funded through statutory services or the NHS, so it was down to us to try and find the necessary money, so at the end of 2015 the Life for Lewis Appeal was born!
Since then L4L has grown and grown and we have managed to fund so many vital disability items and equipment for him which would have been unavailable from the NHS or statutory services. We have successfully raised money for a sensory room, sensory garden, specialist wheelchairs, specialist electric wheelchair, eye gaze system, to name just a few.
The generosity we have received has been completely overwhelming and it really has restored my faith in human nature. There are still lots of extremely kind and generous people out there amongst all the horrible and nasty ones.

We have received support and so much generosity from so many different people (far too many to mention individually!), but we know who they all are, and we will be forever grateful to them for their support during the past five years.
Without their help Lewis would not have been able to have any of the items and equipment which he has desperately needed.
We have met so many amazing people during our fundraising journey, and so many people who have gone above and beyond to help Lewis and our family. We have made so many new life long friends which has been absolutely wonderful and very heart warming.
Although it has been time consuming and really hard work at times, we have also had a lot of really fun times and good laughs during our charity events. We have had a cricket reunion, golf day, charity band days, fun runs to name just a few and they have all been amazing and so well supported. We feel the different events have really brought people together and have enabled people to catch up again with old friends after a lot of years (30+yrs in some cases).
There have also been numerous personal challenges for Lewis which have all been absolutely incredible and people have been so selfless in what they have done for Lewis.
We have literally been blown away with the amount of support and generosity Lewis has received and it will never be forgotten!.
